The Spoiled Ski Snob

Thursday, March 25th, 2010

Do you know a spoiled ski snob or are you one yourself?  If you are a newbie here in Colorado let’s say from the northeast of the US, you probably are not a ski snob.  If you’ve been here for many ski seasons and you don’t travel to the mountains because of the erratic inconsistent snow fall this winter, you may be a spoiled ski snob.  Think about the past couple of seasons.  We’ve had multiple waist deep or deeper snow falls.  So far this season, I haven’t experienced a full run with that kind of powder.  It’s been somewhat frustrating being that we’ve had such great seasons for the past five years.   As the season seems to be odd at best, I feel we may be just one month behind, at least that’s what I want to believe.  I’m not alone here in this thought…I’ve heard others voice it as well.  I hope to be correct and April becomes the month of big dumps.  So to sum up here…if you are not skiing, you’re missing out.  Although it’s not waist deep, it’s Colorado skiing and it’s far better than many other places in this world.  So get out there, work on your form, get a bloody mary, just hang out, and meet new friends.  Most importantly, enjoy your time on the mountain in such an amazing place as Colorado!!!

What to do in Denver

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

Sometimes, you just need good food and a good beer.  Some would define this as a solid meal.  The Hornet provides just that for you.  They are located on Broadway in Denver.  It’s just next to Senor Burrito, an excellent Mexican restaurant.  The Hornet has great food, great service and great beer.  You can find Great Divide beers, as well as an solid bloody mary, along with many other adult beverages.  The cubano and the gangster are tasty sandwiches.  The best side are the spuds.  It’s like awesome scalloped potatoes layered in a…well, you’ll just have to get there to taste this side dish.  It’s really fantastic.
