One of Canada’s preeminent snow-minded new media companies welcomes some top talent and launches a new look at www.snowseekers.ca
EDMONTON, AB, December 7, 2009 — What started out two and a half years ago as a goal to produce a travel book and a website has now blossomed into a content production house with a force of nine.
“Originally we were looking for a mentor to help Brandon Boucher, our Director of Photography up his production game, what we got was a stellar producer," says SnowSeekers’ president, Jim Barr. Jaro Malanowski, one of Canada’s visionary directors and new media producers, has worked with Discovery Channel, the BBC, the National Film Board of Canada, Bravo, CTV, EA games, Bioware, as well as major motion pictures, including The Assassination of Jessie James starring Brad Pitt, and the soon to be released Stonewater.
When it was time to start marketing its efforts to bring more people to its on-line spaces including its website and its many social media properties, SnowSeekers secured Jonas Brook out of Toronto. Brook started working in the advertising industry as a digital producer. He worked on brands such as Adidas, Tide, Downy and eTrade Canada. After taking a sabbatical season in Whistler, Brook headed to Sydney, Australia where he worked at Y&R Brands, one of Australia’s largest advertising agencies where he worked on such brands as Microsoft, HP, NSW Tourism and Dell.
“SnowSeekers offers an unprecedented opportunity to combine my passion for digital marketing with skiing and snowboarding,” said Brook.
SnowSeekers has also welcomed University of Alberta graduate, Dan Moore to the team. Coming on as SnowSeekers’ New Media Specialist, Moore brings in his passion for snowboarding and digital media to the company and his efforts have been instrumental in creating a new website for www.snowseekers.ca which was launched last week.
Also joining the team is Tanya Roth, a talented graphic design specialist with a Fine Arts background. Roth has helped develop the company’s new look, part of which was designing a new logo which incorporates two Canadiana icons: the maple leaf and mountain peaks. Roth also works closely with several of the company’s advertisers to design eye-catching advertisements.
